SleepingTrees Lodge (3/3)
“We live on an island so using a generator for power is a massive problem. Therefore we decided to install a solar system that covers it all for us. We have to because we live on the west side of the island and we have big waves coming in so there will be no boats entering or leaving our beach for months to come. If we were depending on generators we would have to carry the gasoline through the jungle, a walk of 30-40 min.
Low season just started. Early december we should be able to start again. There are still guests coming here though, just a different type of guests. Now only the ones willing to cross the jungle by foot to get here come, these are often adventurous backpackers who appreciate a distant place and enjoy the calm of the low season”.
